Spotlight on Rhett Lindsey

Having worked with Gabrielle Union and Martin Lawrence, Rhett has no plans of slowing down. Read more about his interview on Chica Michelle Blog.

Please tell Chica Michelle Blog about your career journey and how did it all start?
I started my career as an actor at the age of 7 in Atlanta, GA. I’ve always been inspired by the arts. I was discovered by world renowned talent agent, Joy Pervis and have been acting professionally ever since.
Finding a role must be a daunting experience, from trying to get the perfect head shot to getting through your audition. What are your three top tips for anyone new in this area?
My top 3 tips for any artists beginning their career in this industry would be the following:
1.) Learn the business! A lot of beginning artist tend to overlook this and only focus on the art, rather than the art and the business.
2.) Don’t wait, create! Always be creative. Challenge yourself. Don’t wait for an opportunity, create your own opportunity.
3.) Don’t rush the process. This is not a race. It’s a marathon. Take your time, develop your craft, and don’t compare your journey to someone else’s.
